About the lessons:

Whether you're looking to learn from scratch, improve your skills to make your own music, or you want to learn pieces to impress family and friends and just need a bit of advice, then I can offer a friendly atmosphere, and of course you’re in the comfort of your own home.

If you’re unsure of how an online lesson would look and work then Click Here to view a quick demonstration on my YouTube channel.

What I offer:

  • 30 min or 1 hour weekly music lessons
  • London College of Music Examinations in Piano & Keyboard (Online)
  • Popular and Classical styles

For a number of years I have been using the London College of Music for the exams as they offer both Piano & Keyboard exams. They are also one of the first to offer Live Online Exams, Recorded Exams, as well as the traditional face to face. In all that time we have achieved 100% pass rate and 98% at Merit and Distinction. Like all good examination boards, grade 6 and above gives UCAS points (including the online and recorded).

Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp Video?

I have been trying different methods of teaching online using the various formats available - FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp video, and Zoom. Quality of connection and sound is really important. I have personally spent a lot of time and some money, (new equipment etc), trying to give the best experience and I think I have finally found the best system, (for now), - Zoom!

By using a high quality microphone and audio interface with my equipment this app allows me to not only control the quality of sound but also enables me to ‘screen share’ the sheet music, (inc annotations), as and when necessary giving you a better experience.

Zoom have in the past received some negative comments, but they are frequently updating their App and improving both sound transmitted and security.

Backed up by videos

Some of my lessons will be backed up with short ‘how to’ videos of maybe a particular piece of music or technique. If they are for general viewing then anyone can access them, but if they are more for a particular student of mine then they will be on a password protected page.

Just click on the ‘Lesson Videos’ tab at the bottom.
